On April 12, the 78th edition of the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek—the Netherlands’ largest and most iconic flower parade—kicked off in the coastal town of Noordwijk. Among dozens of creatively designed floats, the Chinese-themed float, presented by the China Cultural Center in The Hague, drew attention with its theme of "Harmony and Shared Beauty." Blending traditional Chinese culture with contemporary floral art, the float became a major highlight of the event.
The Bloemencorso dates back to the 17th century and now draws over a million spectators along a 42-kilometer route that passes through seven Dutch towns, including Lisse and Hillegom. This marks the 13th appearance of a Chinese float since its debut in 2010, underscoring the ongoing cultural exchange between China and the Netherlands. The float’s message of harmony reflects China’s vision of a shared global civilization, resonating with the parade’s spirit of diversity and cooperation.
