Dear friends,

 

To promote cultural exchange and share Chinese culture with the public, the Library of the China Cultural Center in The Hague will officially open to the public free of charge starting from October 22, 2025.

 

1. Opening Hours

From October 14, 2025

Tuesday to Friday: 10:00–12:00 and 14:30–16:30

(Closed on public holidays)

 

2. Location

3. Library Card Registration

(1) First-time visitors who wish to borrow books must present a valid identification document. The Center will register the reader’s name and contact information.

(2) To ensure the protection of library resources and prevent loss, a book deposit of €10 is required. The full amount will be refunded upon termination of borrowing rights.

 

4. Borrowing Rules

(1) Please present a valid ID each time you borrow books.

(2) Each reader may borrow up to 5 books at a time for a loan period of 30 days. A one-time renewal of 15 days may be requested before the due date.

(3) Books must be handled with care. Marking, altering, tearing, staining, or losing books is strictly prohibited. In case of serious damage or loss, compensation at the original price is required.

(4) Please maintain silence in the reading area. Mobile phones must be set to silent mode. Noise and disturbance are not allowed.

(5) Smoking and dangerous items are strictly prohibited inside the premises. To protect the books, no food or beverages are allowed in the library.

(6) Please note that most books in the library collection are in Chinese, with only a limited number of materials available in Dutch. For assistance, please contact the staff of the China Cultural Center.
