On the afternoon of August 17, the China Cultural Center in The Hague was filled with an atmosphere of youthful creativity and artistic charm. The grand opening of the “2025 BIBF Illustration Exhibition Netherlands Tour” was jointly organized by China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation, the China Cultural Center in The Hague, and the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery.
The exhibition features 41 outstanding youth illustrations selected from the 2025 Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) International Illustration Competition, including several artworks created by young artists themselves.
At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Wang Yiran, Marketing Manager of the Exhibition Center at CNPIEC and Chief Curator of the BIBF Illustration Exhibition; Mr. Bartelink, Head of External Relations at the Mauritshuis; and Ms. Xue Aiwen, CEO of Mon Envis Brand Management – a Dutch cultural promotion agency. They highlighted that the exhibition serves as a bridge for artistic dialogue and mutual understanding between Chinese and Dutch youth, and expressed their continued support for youth art education cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Centered around the theme “The Gift of Nature”, the artworks showcase young people's imagination of Dutch landscapes and their shared love for the natural beauty of both China and the Netherlands. With vivid colors, thoughtful compositions, and sincere emotions, these illustrations will be donated to local welfare institutions in the Netherlands.
